In 2023 SCYLC returned to our normal conference programming with simultaneous sessions at both Clemson University and Francis Marion University in mid-May. These events represented the best of SCYLC and for the first time demonstrated we had the capacity to hold multiple events at the same time. Our staff, with the help of several former SCYLC students, did an outstanding job in creating and managing two successful programs.
One missing element was the Advanced Class as we did not have sufficient students to invite to this event at both schools. However, in 2024 we will once again hold these important sessions to further and enhance the leadership skills of those students who wish to return. Each will have the opportunity to lead a session among their peers.
More wonderful news in 2023 is the development of our new website, finally done by professionals, that will replace the earlier version. This site will be far more encompassing that previous versions in that it will become the “go to” place for all things SCYLC. This includes not only updates and news of SCYLC but the forthcoming registration process for SCYLC-2024. The availability of all information and the registration being online, in one place, will truly help to make our conference grow into a premier event in South Carolina.
